Dr. Magnus Uju Amajirionwu – Nigeria
Board MemberDr. Magnus Uju Amajirionwu is a Professor of Environment and Sustainable Development. He is a Chartered Environmentalist (UK), Chartered Resources & Waste Manager (UK), experienced environmental regulatory scientist, sustainability expert, and educationist. He currently leads Africa’s first licensed, virtual university, preparing the next generation of African and world leaders. The principal thrust of the digitally delivered mode of education is to provide first-class education that is affordable and accessible anywhere learners are, without having to relocate away from their loved ones or leave their job.
Professor Amajirionwu’s other expertise includes permitting and enforcement, principally, activities under the European Union Industrial Emissions Directive and the Waste Framework Directive, including permits for waste management operations, waste-to-energy plants, oil and gas operations, solvent and pharmaceuticals, cement manufacturing including co-incineration plants, computer chips manufacturing, biogas processes, energy, mining, and minerals extractive industry.
Over three decades of experience working in both the public and private sectors of Europe and Africa and in various roles as EHS consultant, energy & environmental projects manager, lecturer, and researcher.
