BECOMING A FELLOW

Boma Prize for Africa (BPFA) Fellowship Program - Basic Requirements

The BPFA Fellowship Program is designed for changemakers who have successfully completed a Boma Consult Entrepreneurship Program and are driving impact aligned with one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This fellowship aims to support entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders committed to solving Africa’s most pressing challenges.

  1. Completion of a Boma Consult Entrepreneurship Program – Applicants must have successfully completed at least
    one of Boma Consult’s entrepreneurship programs.
  2. Alignment with the SDGs – The applicant’s initiative must address at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development
    Goals (SDGs), such as poverty reduction, quality education, climate action, gender equality, or economic growth.
  3. African Residency or Origin – Must be an African citizen or resident actively working on the continent.
  4. Demonstrated Impact & Innovation – Must be a founder, entrepreneur, or leader with a track record of social or economic
    impact.
  5. Scalability & Sustainability – The project or business must show potential for growth, long-term sustainability, and
    measurable impact.
  6. Commitment to the Fellowship – Willingness to fully engage in mentorship, training, networking, and collaboration
    opportunities.
  1. Proof of Completion – Certificate or official confirmation of completion from a Boma Consult Entrepreneurship Program.
  2. SDG Alignment Statement – A 500-word essay detailing how the applicant’s initiative contributes to one or more SDGs
    and its impact.
  3. Project/Business Summary – A one-page document outlining the initiative, its beneficiaries, and future plans.
  4. Recommendation Letter – At least one letter from a mentor, instructor, or stakeholder familiar with the applicant’s work.
  5. Impact Evidence – Any supporting documents such as media coverage, reports, or testimonials demonstrating the
    initiative’s impact.
  6. Video Submission – A 1–2-minute video introducing the applicant, their mission, and their SDG-aligned impact.
